What your Urine Color reveals about your Health




1. Milky or White: This may be caused by a number of reasons. One, it could be that certain body minerals are unbalanced in your body system. These nutrients are very essential, and they include phosphate and calcium. It could also be as a result of certain bacterial infections or a URINARY TRACT INFECTION (UTI). It's best to visit your doctor if your urine appears milky or white. 

2. Transparent or colorless: When your urine appears colorless, it could be that you drink too much water. Although it's not too dangerous for your health. However, when too much water or other fluids are consumed, essential body minerals may be diluted, hence making your body not supplied with an adequate amount of nutrients. 

3. Red: When you urinate blood, that's better be taken care of. It's not a good sign at all. Commonly referred to as Hematuria, red urine could be a sign of certain infections such as kidney stones, mercury poisoning, or urinary infections. It's safe to visit your doctor as soon as this is noticed. 

4. Blue: When you notice a blue urine color, it's better to seek a medical solution. Certain drugs and food dyes are said to be responsible for this blue color in urine. It could also be a sign of a metabolic disorder called blue diaper syndrome. 

5. Pale: If your urine is pale, you've nothing to fret about. It reveals you're well and healthy. It also shows that you're well-hydrated. 

6. Dark Yellow: If your urine is dark yellow, you may need to visit your doctor. It's not a serious case as such. It could be that you're not hydrating as much as needed. 

7. Green: What comes to your mind first should be leafy greens. Asparagus is one of the few that can make your urine turn green. In fact, the odor resulting from the urine is usually that of asparagus veggie. Sometimes it could also be a sign that you have a particular bacterial infection in your urinary system. 

8. Amber: Amber color could be a sign of dehydration. However, it doesn't mean you should self-medicate by thinking hydration would solve this problem. Although, it's medically advised to take at least 4 liters of water daily. If you adhere to this, you are likely to overcome the dehydration but it's never an assurance that it's the best solution. The best thing to do is to visit your doctor. 

9. Light orange: A light orange could be an indication that you're dehydrated. Also, it's associated with bile duct and liver problems in most cases. In addition, excessive consumption of foods rich in vitamin B could also be a possible cause. 

10. Dark brown: Most times, this could mean that you have jaundice, Gilbert syndrome, or even rhabdomyolysis affecting your body system. The best remedy is to seek medical advice.
